Recent COVID-19 cases reported in Juneau are from Lemon Creek Correctional Center

According to the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Juneau’s recent COVID-19 cases are employees at Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau. More specifically, they are the individual cases reported on April 10, April 12, and April 13. In addition, a new case from results that came in today is also an employee of Lemon Creek Correctional, bringing the total number of LCCC employees who tested positive for COVID-19 to four. Due to reporting protocols, the newest case won’t be counted in state numbers until tomorrow.

At this point, there are no known cases among inmates at Lemon Creek Correctional, according to state Division of Public Health. The Department of Corrections (DOC) is monitoring inmates and other staff closely for symptoms, and Public Health Nurses are working collaboratively with DOC to test additional staff and continue daily monitoring of exposed staff. None of these cases have been hospitalized.
