CBJ Policy & Code

CBJ 41.05.005:

It is the policy of the City and Borough of Juneau to eliminate unlawful discrimination based on race, color, age, religion, sex, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or national origin. Such discrimination poses a threat to the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the City and Borough.

The CBJ also has a Human Rights Commission which has an educational and advisory role in eliminating discrimination.

Federal and State Agencies

The U.S. and Alaska State Governments have agencies that oversee and enforce equal opportunity in employment and human rights laws.  You can find information about those agencies here:

CBJ Liaison

The Deputy City Manager is the city’s liaison to community groups representing the interests of individuals covered by the CBJ Equal Rights ordinance who have questions or concerns related to municipal services.
