The National Weather Service Forecasts-

TODAY...PATCHY FOG EARLY IN THE MORNING. RAIN. TEMPERATURES
REMAINING AROUND 41. SOUTHEAST 10 TO 15 MPH BECOMING EAST 15 TO 20 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON.

TONIGHT...RAIN. LOWS AROUND 36. EAST WIND 15 TO 20 MPH.

WEDNESDAY...MOSTLY CLOUDY. CHANCE OF RAIN. HIGHS AROUND 38. EASTWIND 10 TO 15 MPH.

Temperatures around the region remain quite warm with the Tram weather station reporting 36f. Eaglecrest remains 38 at the base and right around freezing on top.

We did see some new snow at higher elevations yesterday that came in quite wet. The Mt Roberts Weather site received about 3/4\" of precipitation yesterday in the form of rain. That created fair to moderate loading onto the snowpack.

With another 1/2\" of rain and continued warm temperatures in the forecast the chance of wet avalanches exists. The likelihood is not high with both moderate temps and light to moderate rains. If you are recreating at higher elevations there may be pockets of new snow instability in places.

With natural avalanches possible but unlikely and a possibility of human triggered avalanches in isolated areas avalanche danger is Moderate at this time.

Avalanche danger will decrease over time as it starts to cool off a bit more tonight and precipitation rates will continue to decrease over the next few days.

Tip:

This is a Canadian video series intended to show motorized users what they need to know to get out, have fun, and stay alive in avalanche terrain. Get a comfortable place to sit, grab some refreshments, and be prepared to think about where you go and how you ride and make decisions.
