Installing or Changing Out Your Heating Element
Overview
Boilers, propane tanks, oil tanks, hot water heaters, and air source heat pumps are all over-the-counter permits. Just come in, explain your project, and we will issue your permit right then.
Exception
If your oil or propane tank is over 660 gallons, it will need to meet your properties setback requirements. You may view these requirements by visiting our Table of Dimensional Standards, or by talking to a Planner.
Commercial Tanks
Commercial propane and oil tanks are subject to the Commercial and Industrial Standards in Title 04
Items to submit for permit application
Over-the-Counter Submission
Come into the office or send an email that tells us about your project
Submit a Site Plan
- Show the size and location of the tank
- Specify whether the tank is connected to a residential or commercial use
