Pre-Application & Informational Meetings

Pre-application conferences are tailored for conducting early in the design process. They provide a high level review of  projects, so we can establish the types of land use permitting that may be involved, and catch any potential issues that could arise during the construction phase. Through this, the applicant will gain a better understanding of the permitting timeline and fees associated with their project.

To request a pre-application conference, please email Edward Quinto at permits@juneau.org. The following items are needed at the time of request:

  1. Narrative of the project
  2. Plans that are relevant to the project

After a brief evaluation of the narrative and plans, we may request additional information to ensure a productive conference.

Pre-application conferences are usually scheduled one week out, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Depending on the scope of your project, staff present could include:

  • Permit Specialist
  • Planner
  • Building Inspector
  • General Engineering Associate
  • Fire Representative
