On 03/30/2003, at about 1:53 p.m., the Juneau Police Department received a report of a residential structure fire in the 2800 block of Engineers Cutoff Road. It was reported that a person was still possibly inside the residence.
CCFR and JPD responded to the scene. CCFR located an unconscious male inside the residence. He was removed from the home and life-saving measures were started. The male never regained consciousness and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased male has been identified as a 51-year-old Juneau resident. The next of kin has been notified.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
