The Juneau Police Department will be hosting a National Prescription Drug Take Back event on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10 AM to 2 PM. The event will be in the lobby of the Juneau Police Department, located at 6255 Alaway Ave.
The Drug Enforcement Administration sponsors these events to allow community members an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, or unwanted medications. During the last Take Back event, the DEA and its state, local, and tribal law-enforcement partners removed 441.5 tons of medications.
In addition to prescription medication, we will also be accepting vaping pens without internal batteries and vaping cartridges. Vaping pens with internal batteries will not be accepted.
