Subject: Arrest for Misconduct Weapons and Drugs
Date: 2020-05-26
From: Lieutenant Krag Campbell
Case or Incident: #200518-008
Summary:

On 05/22/20, at about 11:30 PM, Juneau Police officers contacted 40-year-old Juneau resident Clyde Pasterski during a traffic stop in the area of Riverside Drive and Rotary Park. Pasterski was the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation alleging he was in possession of firearms, as well as narcotics. Pasterski is a convicted felon and is not to be in possession of any firearms. As a result of that investigation, the police department obtained search warrants to serve on Pasterski, as well as his residence.

Following the traffic stop, Pasterski was detained and transported to the police department. Officers served the search warrant on Pasterski, the vehicle he was driving at the time of contact, and his residence located in the 9300 block of Lakeview Court. During the search, officers located a loaded handgun in Pasterski's vehicle. During the search of Pasterski's residence, officers located six rifles, two handguns, seal bombs, and small amounts of narcotics, believed to be heroin and methamphetamine.

While at the police department, Pasterski was told he was being placed under arrest. Pasterski fought with officers and attempted to gain control of one of the officer's firearms. Pasterski was struck with a baton, which ended the altercation. During the altercation, Pasterski sustained an injury to his face, which was treated by medical staff at the hospital. The injury is not considered to be serious. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the altercation with Pasterski.

Pasterski was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center where he was lodged on seventeen criminal charges:

  • 11 counts of misconduct involving weapons in the 3rd degree, all class C felonies
  • 2 counts of assault in the 3rd degree, both class C felonies
  • Assault in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor
  • Resisting or interfering with arrest, a class A misdemeanor
  • 2 counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 5th degree, both class A misdemeanors

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
