The controlled substances that were seized from Patrick Iler were weighed and identified as 22.8 grams of heroin, 167.2 grams of methamphetamine and 33.8 grams of cocaine. The drugs have a combined estimated street value of about $27,000.
On 02/27/20 at about 3:30 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report from a business in the 9000 block of Glacier Highway, that 36-year-old Patrick Hal Iler had gone into the business and was suspected of shoplifting. Store employees contacted Iler and asked him to empty his pockets. Iler emptied his pockets and was in possession of a handgun. Employees asked Iler to leave the store and then notified JPD. A records check showed Iler is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess firearms.
On 02/29/20, at about 11:30 PM, JPD contacted Iler in a blue Chevrolet pickup on Industrial Boulevard. Iler was questioned about the earlier report of him possessing a handgun, but since he didn't have any weapons on him at the time, he was released. JPD seized the vehicle and obtained a search warrant for it. Inside the vehicle, JPD located a handgun with a suppressor, drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and a large quantity of heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine.
On 03/04/20, at about 3:09 AM, JPD located Iler in the downtown area, off of 2nd Street. Iler was found to be in possession of a small amount of heroin and another large quantity of methamphetamine.
Iler was placed under arrest for two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the 2nd degree, a class A felony and misconduct involving weapons in the 3rd degree, a class C felony. Iler was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
