INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: Domestic Assault
Date: 2020-01-15
From: Lieutenant Krag Campbell
Case or Incident: #200115-001
Summary:

On 01/15/20, at about 2:04 AM, the Juneau Police Department was notified that a 24-year-old male had gone into the emergency room at the hospital with knife wound on his arm.

Officers went to the hospital and spoke with the man, as well as his 18-year-old girlfriend, Louisa Nathan-Jackson, about the cause of the injury. Officers learned that Nathan-Jackson and the man had been involved in an argument at their residence, located in the 9600 block of Amalga Street. During the argument, Nathan-Jackson grabbed a knife and cut the man across his left and right forearms.

The man sustained multiple superficial cuts on his left and right forearms; as well as a more severe cut on his right forearm that was approximately three inches long and required sutures. After receiving medical treatment, the man was released from the hospital.

Nathan-Jackson was placed under arrest for assault in the 2nd degree, a class B felony offense. Nathan-Jackson was taken to the jail and held without bail.

Officers later served a search warrant at the residence on Amalga Street. Inside the residence they located bloody clothing and a knife that is believed to have been used during that assault.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
