On July 30th at around 1:51 a.m., several people reported the sounds of a vehicle driving fast, then a crash in the area of Gail Avenue. At about 2:01 a.m, a woman reported a truck struck her residence in the 4400 block of Mendenhall Boulevard. The truck was unoccupied.
Officers arrived on scene and located a silver Dodge truck that appeared to have driven through a fence, crossed the grass and struck a vehicle in the driveway before running into the garage door. The suspect truck was found running and parked partially inside the garage. The residence and a vehicle parked inside the garage were also damaged.
At around 2:54 a.m. the driver of the vehicle, 24 year old Erik J. Pedersen was contacted outside a residence on Gail Avenue. Pedersen was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Give Immediate Notice of Accident. He was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held on $500 bail.
Damage to a stop sign, two vehicles, a fence and the residence were estimated at around $20,000.
