On July 25th at around 8:14 p.m., the Juneau Police Department was notified that a deceased person had been found on the beach in the area of Echo Cove. JPD officers responded to investigate the situation.
The male body was found at the tide line on the beach. The area was accessed by walking half of a mile down a trail and another half of a mile along the beach. Capital City Fire/Rescue responded with a boat to assist in retrieving the deceased person.
The male has not yet been identified. The body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
