On July 21st at 3:06 a.m., multiple 9-1-1 calls were received reporting a crowd of people and a large fight in the area of Front and Main Streets.
As officers arrived on scene, the fighting amongst 20-30 people continued. The subjects were focused on fighting with each other and did not appear to engage with the general public. The subjects appeared to know each other.
Many subjects did not comply with the officer’s verbal commands. The ongoing fighting created significant safety concerns. OC “pepper” spray and strikes were deployed by the officers. These force alternatives were eventually effective and the crowd disbursed.
Between 3:20 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., multiple individuals continued assaultive behavior at other locations. JPD responded to several other reports involving subjects involved in the initial event. The following individuals were arrested:
23 year old Alexander Neli was contacted on Seward Street and arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
21 year old Patrick Naputi was contacted on Glacier Highway and arrested for three counts of Reckless Endangerment.
26 year old Mathew Maka was contacted on Renninger Street and arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
The investigation continues.
