Domestic dispute leads to the stabbing of a 32 year old male.
On 06/23/19, at about 4:50 AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a domestic dispute in the 8600 block of Gail Ave. The complainant, a 32 year old male, told police that he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument when she stabbed him with a knife. The 32 year old male had an injury near the elbow of his right arm that was consistent with being stabbed, but it was not life threatening.
The female had left the area prior to the arrival of police, but was located in a vehicle on Mall Road about an hour later. The knife that was believed to be used in the stabbing was located in the vehicle. The female was detained and identified as 32 year old Juneau resident, Melissa Butler. After questioning about the incident, Butler was placed under arrest for assault 2nd degree and taken to jail where she was held without bail.
The 32 year old male received medical treatment at the hospital for is injury and was released later that same morning.
