UPDATE: On 06/29/2019, 61 year old Juneau resident, Gregory Wade Bowen, died at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Washington. Mr. Bowen has been at the Harborview Medical Center after receiving life threatening injuries related to the stabbing on 06/17/2019.

On June 17th, 2019 at around 6:38pm, a woman called 9-1-1 and reported a man she was with was hurt, bleeding and had been wounded with a knife. Officers and Capital City Fire/Rescue were dispatched to the residence in the 5000 block of North Douglas Highway. Officers found a 61 year old male lying on the floor of the residence. The man was suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. A knife that was used in the assault was located in the residence. The man was transported to BRH where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.
Sonya H. Taton, a 42 year old Juneau woman was contacted at the residence. She was charged with DV Assault in the 1st degree, transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. The male victim was medevaced to Seattle for further medical care.
