Summary:

On May 15th, 2019 at about 2:56pm, a 24 year old Juneau man was struck by a vehicle on Glacier Highway before the Auke Bay round-a-bout. The man got off of a Capital Transit bus that had been driving outbound. He entered the street behind the bus, crossing in front of a blue Toyota Rav4 driving in the inbound lane, operated by a 58 year old woman.

A State Department of Transportation employee was working in the area and came to the injured man’s aid. The injured man was transported to BRH by ambulance. He did not have any obvious signs of critical injuries and was alert. The vehicle sustained damage to the windshield and bumper and was able to be driven from the scene.  No citations were issued.
