On 09/21/2018, at about 4PM, the Juneau Police department responded to a major motor vehicle crash on Egan Drive near the intersection with Fred Meyer.
Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision and one vehicle had started on fire. A JPD officer quickly extinguished the fire with an extinguisher from his vehicle.
There was only one occupant of each vehicle. Both vehicles were totaled and CCFR extricated one driver from her crushed car.
The Juneau Police Department along with help from the Alaska State Troopers, and a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Officer assisted in blocking one lane and kept traffic flowing as CCFR treated both drivers.
Both drivers were transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for further treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Jeff Sewill was cited for Failure to Exercise Due Care.
