On 10/07/18, at about 1:16 PM, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a body floating in the water near the USCG Station Juneau, located at 345 Egan Drive. It was reported that the body was floating about fifty feet from the shore.
The body was recovered from the water and identified as 53 year old Juneau resident, Ricardo Willard. Next of kin has been notified.
Officers saw no signs of trauma to Willard's body, but it is unknown at this time how he ended up in the water. Willard's body will be flown to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage for an autopsy.
This death is still under investigation.
