On November 9th, 2017, at approximately 9:48AM, the Juneau Police Department received a report from a caller, stating they had found a body while working on the downtown docks. The location was described as the shoreline next to the Marine Parking Garage.
CCFR and JPD responded to the area and confirmed that the body was that of 24 year old Joshua Raymond Jones, who was deceased. The identification of the male was confirmed by JPD and next of kin has been notified.
Preliminary investigation showed that Jones had at one point been in the water, and the location of his body when found was on land, near the tideline. There were no signs of physical trauma to Jones? body and the cause of death is unknown at this time.
Jones? body will be sent to the Alaska Medical Examiners office for an autopsy and determination of cause of death.
