On 11/02/2017, at approximately 7:09 PM, the Juneau Police Department was notified of an assault that took place near the 100 block of South Franklin Street. The victim, a 49 year old male Juneau resident, was transported to the Bartlett Regional Hospital and then ultimately flown to SEATTLE for treatment of facial injuries.
The male victim reported that another male approached him and began punching him in the face. The incident was captured on a private video surveillance system and the suspect was identified as 21 year old Juneau resident River Eugene Parrish.
On 11/03/2017, at approximately 6:27 AM, Parrish was located near the Downtown Transit Center. Parrish was arrested for Assault in the 2nd Degree. Parrish was also under court ordered conditions of release for Assault 3rd Degree dated 10/30/2017. Parrish was additionally charged with Violating Conditions of Release. Parrish was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and lodged on no bail.
The investigation is continuing.
