On November 28, 2014, at about 7:12 in the evening, a man robbed the Payless Shoe Store in Nugget Mall. He did not display a weapon but did keep a hand in his pocket possibly to suggest that he did have a weapon. Eye witness statements are not consistent but it is possible two men were involved. One man is described as a black man, dressed all in black, with a black head wrap like a bandanna. The second man is described as a 5?6? and of mixed race, possibly half black and half white, wearing tan pants and a gray sweatshirt. The suspect carried a pink shoe box and told the clerk to put all the money inside. The man got away with one to two thousand dollars in cash in mixed bills.
JPD does not currently have surveillance video to release to the public. Anyone shopping in the Nugget Mall Friday evening who saw the suspect or suspects loitering may have important information.
