On December 27th, 2013 at about 5:23 PM, a 23 year old woman called the Juneau Police Department (JPD) to report she had been assaulted at her downtown residence. The woman stated that her father and his girlfriend held her down and punched her multiple times and then left the area on foot.
JPD Officers responded to the area. At about 5:29 PM, officers contacted and detained 35 year old Miriam Burke. Burke was arrested for domestic violence assault.
A short time later, an officer located 45 year old Tony Delgado who ran away from the officer. Multiple officers searched the area and ultimately located Delgado hiding in a dumpster at about 6:52 PM. Tony Delgado was arrested on two outstanding warrants. A $10,000 no bail warrant charging robbery in the 2nd degree and a $500 warrant for failure to comply with probation, original charge: violating a domestic violence protective order.
Both subjects were transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Investigation continues into the report of domestic violence assault.
