INFORMATION RELEASE

Subject: Suspicious Activity
Date: 2013-10-25
From: Erann Kalwara, JPD PIO
Case or Incident: #131025-003
Summary:

On October 25, 2013 at approximately 10:20 AM, the Juneau Police Department was notified that a 14 year old male high school student had been contacted by an adult male unknown to him.

The man was parked on the side of the roadway in a black Jeep with the window rolled down. The man made a ?come here? motion with his finger and then offered to give the student a ride. The student ended the conversation and safely left the area.

Two JPD officers responded to the area and began an investigation. During an interview with the student, enough descriptive information was provided for officers to identify a subject that had possibly operated the Jeep.

Officers contacted a 48 year old male at his residence in the valley regarding his participation in the incident. The Juneau Police Department is consulting with the City Attorney and investigation into this incident continues.

All factual allegations contained in this release are based upon preliminary investigation and are subject to change or clarification as the investigation continues. Any charges reported in this release are merely accusations and all persons named in this release are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
