The Alaska State Troopers are coordinating local efforts for the Drug Enforcement Administration?s (DEA) Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 AM ? 2:00 PM at the Nugget Mall.
The Juneau Police Department encourages citizens to attend the event to turn in unused or expired medication for safe disposal.
The Juneau Police Department will have an officer available at the event to assist citizens and discuss the abuse of prescription drugs.
The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.
