State reports 111 new COVID-19 cases, seven in Juneau

Alaska Health and Social Services reports seven new COVID-19 cases in Juneau – one resident and six nonresidents in the seafood industry. The new resident case is being categorized as related to travel outside of Alaska. These seven cases are part of a statewide total of 111 new cases – 92 residents and 19 nonresidents.

As previously reported, the City and Borough of Juneau has conducted two different testing efforts for employees at Alaska Glacier Seafoods. The July 15 testing has revealed two more resident positive cases for the seafood processing company, bringing its total number of COVID-19 cases to 38. Eight are residents and 30 are nonresidents.

Cumulatively, Alaska has had 2,041 resident cases statewide and a total of 484 nonresident cases. The state also reported five new hospitalizations.
