Special Assembly Meeting March 23 at 5 p.m.

A Special Assembly meeting has been called for Monday, March 23 at 5 p.m. in the Assembly Chambers. The Mayor has determined the Special Meeting will begin at 5 p.m. with a recess if/when the Governor’s daily press briefing begins while the Special Assembly meeting is in progress.

The two items on the Special Assembly agenda include:

A. Resolution 2885 – A Resolution Mandating People in the City and Borough of Juneau Must Hunker Down Related to COVID-19

B. Discussion on School and Facility Closures

Please note that the Assembly Lands Committee meeting previously scheduled at 5 p.m. has been cancelled. The Assembly Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. or immediately following adjournment of the Special Assembly meeting.

In order to practice social distancing, this meeting will be broadcast via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/cbjuneau. That same video feed will also be available on the CBJ website at juneau.org/covid-19. Staff is working on arrangements for sign language interpreters and/or closed captioning to be available during Special Assembly meetings as well as the ability for the public to participate telephonically. Additional information will be forthcoming as soon as it becomes available.
