Real property tax & business personal property tax due

The City and Borough of Juneau’s 2017 real and business personal property taxes are due by September 30, 2017. Since September 30, 2017 falls on a weekend, tax payments will be considered timely if received or postmarked on or before October 2, 2017.

PENALTY – A five (5) percent penalty will be assessed on all unpaid tax balances as of Tuesday, October 3, 2017.

INTEREST – In addition to the penalty assessed, interest will accrue at fifteen (15) percent per annum on the unpaid tax balance beginning October 2017.

CBJ’s Treasury Office reminds residents and taxpayers that it is the responsibility of the property owner to contact the CBJ if a tax notice has not been received. Late payments, for whatever reason, are subject to penalty and interest charges.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

  1. Mail to CBJ, 155 South Seward Street, Juneau, AK 99801.This year all payments postmarked on or before October 2, 2017 will be considered timely.
  2. Drop off at CBJ’s Cash Office in City Hall or one of CBJ’s three drop boxes located at SuperBear Supermarket in the valley, Foodland IGA downtown, or City Hall. Payments must be in the drop box by midnight on Monday, October 2, 2017 to avoid late payment penalties.
  3. Credit card at www.officialpayments.com via internet or phone (1- 800-272-9829); use Jurisdiction Code 1202. Official Payments Corp charges a convenience fee. Credit cards cannot be used if paying at the CBJ Cash Office.
