Public Meeting on Juneau Airport Terminal Remodel June 12

The Juneau International Airport is looking for public feedback and participation in the Juneau International Airport terminal remodel project. The airport is hosting a public forum on Tuesday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Alaska Room at the Juneau Airport. People attending the forum can park in Short Term Parking and bring their automated parking lot ticket to the meeting to get validated. If you are unable to attend in person, participation is encouraged through a teleconference line, (907) 789-2014.

In 2005, the airport developed a Master Plan for modernizing the terminal. Phase I called for renovating and expanding portions of the terminal constructed after 1984 (these areas primarily serve large carrier operations), and Phase 2 would replace terminal areas that were constructed prior to 1984 (these areas include the regional air carriers and air taxis). Phase 1 was completed in 2013, and Phase 2 is still in the works.

Conceptual designs for Phase 2 that reflect ideas generated to date are currently being refined. Because the final decision of how to proceed will have long-lasting impacts on Juneau, the Airport Board is seeking public input. At the June 12 meeting, the airport will provide an overview of plan options and will listen to public feedback.
