Public meeting Monday on next phase of Downtown Street Improvements

Learn about the next phase of the City and Borough of Juneau’s Downtown Street Improvement project at a public meeting Monday, Sept. 25, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baranof Hotel, Treadwell Ballroom.

The project team will review the project’s history, design elements and construction plans for Phase II, which encompasses all of Front Street, North Franklin Street from the Front Street intersection up to Second Street, and a portion of First Street. The project will include the installation of a new roadway, new sidewalks, new lighting and drainage improvements throughout the project area. This is a continuation of Phase I work on South Franklin Street from Manila Square to Front Street, which wrapped up in May.

Phase II construction is set to take place during the spring and fall of 2018.
