Trade of private and CBJ-owned land in Fritz Cove (CSP2018 0008)

Disposal of CBJ-owned land on Mendenhall Loop Road (CSP2018 0011)
CBJ Lands and Resources requests approval for a land disposal of 1.09 acres at 11031 Mendenhall Loop Road to the adjacent landowners. As part of this acquisition, the purchasers offer a 30-foot wide easement through their existing lot which, combined with a 30-foot easement through the property owned by the city, will allow for a 60-foot access and utility easement to support future development of the city and university property west of the subject lot.
Juneau Makerspace – a community workshop and meeting space (USE2018 0019)
The applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit for a community workshop and meeting place in a D18 zoning district. The facility includes an indoor woodshop, electronics lab, ceramics studio, craft room, art studios, a kitchen, and a main hall which is used for special events such as improv shows, rehearsals, crafting classes, and gaming events.
Development of the Archipelago downtown waterfront property
(USE2018 0015, FZE2018 0001, CSP2018 0009, CSP2018 0010)
Four applications will be considered related to the development of tidelands and uplands on parcels adjacent to the downtown library and parking garage. This is a cooperative effort of the private owners and CBJ Docks and Harbors.

The Planning Commission will reconsider an application they heard at their October 23, 2018, meeting. The applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit for the development of a 32-unit condominium complex on a vacant lot at 11798 Glacier Highway, located within the Auke Bay Center area.
