People of CBJ: Joe Mishler

April 8, 2020 – News

“A lot of people had a lot of great ideas to make this happen. It’s not any one person. Someone had the idea of putting the testing center here at the Hagevig Regional Fire Training Center. Someone had the idea of basing the call center out of the library. One of the ideas was to use the school nurses to do our call screenings because there’s no school… It’s been the neatest thing the way different people from different areas have come together to make this work.”

Joe Mishler is in charge of the Capital City Fire/Rescue drive-thru testing center. Normally, he’s the C.A.R.E.S Program Director for CCFR. If you have COVID-19 symptoms – like fever, dry cough, or shortness of breath – contact your primary healthcare provider. Juneau residents can also call the local COVID-19 Screening Hotline at 586-6000 daily from noon to 6 p.m. Testing will be arranged if appropriate and is conducted at the center by appointment only.
