Journey to Celebration Canoe Landing at Douglas Boat Harbor June 5

Canoes with the One People Canoe Society journeying to Celebration from Ketchikan, Sitka, Kake, Angoon, Hoonah, Yakutat and Canada will be landing at the Douglas Harbor on June 5 between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The City and Borough of Juneau Docks & Harbors is closing the Douglas Harbor launch ramp from noon to 4 p.m. to accommodate the Canoe Landing.

Clan Leaders will be welcoming the canoes from the dock at the launch ramp. Only the Clan Leaders, their escorts and the Yees Ku Oo Dance Group will have access to the dock. Spectators will be on the land surrounding the dock area.

Note that parking will get congested, so please consider carpooling to the area. Portable toilets will be on site and available for use, as will the public toilets in Savikko Park.
