Docks & Harbors hosts C-SPAN Bus June 19 during Juneau visit

June 13, 2018 – News

As part of its 50 Capitals Tour, the C-SPAN Bus will be in Juneau June 18-19. The Washington, D.C.-based public affairs network and GCI are working together to bring the 45-foot bus to Alaska’s Capital, as well as Fairbanks and Anchorage. The bus will be parked on the City and Borough of Juneau’s approach ramp to the Cruise Ship Terminal (CT Dock) behind the Mount Robert’s Tram building on Tuesday, June 19 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

The C-SPAN Bus will host community events and produce public affairs programming, which will highlight Alaska venues, public officials, non-fiction authors and local historians. The programming will be featured on C-SPAN networks during the July 21-22 weekend. The goal of the 50 Capitals Tour is to engage students, community members and elected officials in every state through on-board interactive tablets and stations, and by talking with residents about issues important to them. Juneau is the 38th capital city visit along the tour.
