Celebrate Museum Day with Juneau-Douglas City Museum Sept. 21

Enjoy live music and free admission to the Juneau-Douglas City Museum on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m – 4:30 p.m. in honor of Museum Day.

Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide free entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. The Museum Day ticket provides free admission to the City Museum for two people on Saturday, September 21 and can be downloaded here: www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday

This year, the City Museum will provide live music throughout the day in honor of Smithsonian Year of Music 2019. This is not a seated event but music may be enjoyed informally while viewing the City Museum’s exhibits. Performers include Mark Whitman on flute and strings; Hetty Barthel and John Cooper viola duets; and Tom Locher on piano.
