January 5, 2018 – News

Ever wonder: What resources does CBJ provide when it comes to housing and development? How is the housing market doing in Juneau? How does the Community Development Department serve our community? Get the answers to these questions and many others during the free Housing & Development Forum on Jan. 18. The all-day event – 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – takes place at the Vocational Training & Resource Center on 3239 Hospital Drive. Lunch is provided. RSVP by emailing [email protected] or call 586-0789.

The forum includes mini-sessions on topics like building and housing trends, Buying a House 101, Permit Center processes, how to use CBJ’s GIS Parcel Viewer, property assessment process, updates to the Building Code and Zoning Code, affordable housing programs, Fair Housing Laws, and a lot more. Presenters include CBJ staff members, Affordable Housing Commission, local builders and realtors, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, and Alaska Legal Services.

All members of the public are invited, including builders and contractors, realtors, real estate developers, mortgage lenders, and current and interested homeowners.
