Capital Transit to try out changes to Route 6 Express & Route 4 Aug. 19-30

Capital Transit will be making temporary service changes to the Route 6 Riverside Express and Route 4 Mendenhall Valley bus routes. These service changes will be in effect August 19 through August 30. This is a trial run; normal service will resume on August 31.

The trial will add a stop at Mendenhall Mall to the inbound Route 6 Express. The Route 6 Express will now provide service throughout the day to the Mendenhall Mall in both the inbound and outbound directions during this trial.

To fix missed transfers during rush hour traffic and alleviate overcrowding, the Route 4 will bypass the Mendenhall Mall every weekday (Monday through Friday) from 3 to 6 p.m. The revised Route 6 Express will provide service to the Mendenhall Mall at these times, and can transfer passengers to the inbound Route 4 at the Nugget Mall.

If the trial run proves effective, Capital Transit will notify the public of permanent service changes.
