Capital Transit adjusts service due to DOT&PF work near Downtown Transit Center

May 12, 2020 – FYI

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities plans to close bus access to the City and Borough of Juneau’s Downtown Transit Center for paving as part of the Egan Drive Improvements Project. Due to this work, there will be no bus service at the Downtown Transit Center, Franklin and Front Street, or 4th Street bus stops effective Thursday, May 14. During this time, Capital Transit will be staging buses at the Marine Park Plaza; public parking there will be closed.

Passengers should catch the bus at the Downtown Public Library or at the temporary bus stop on Whittier Street, across the street from the Alaska State Museum. Bus service changes are scheduled to start May 14 and will last until DOT&PF work is complete in front of the Downtown Transit Center. DOT&PF is planning to work on this portion of the project through May 23. Please note, the work is weather dependent and may be delayed.

For more information on the service changes, call Capital Transit at 789-6901.
