New section of Kaxdigoowu Heen Dei is open for public use

Construction has finished up for the season on Juneau Parks & Recreation’s Kaxdigoowu Héen Dei, also known as the Brotherhood Bridge Trail, and the new section is open for use by the public. City and Borough of Juneau Engineering had finished removing the eroded, unsafe section of trail earlier this fall, and reused the same material to construct the new section of trail that’s replacing it. In the spring, Engineering will be paving it to match the rest of the trail, and the old trail site will be seeded to restore the area to wetland.
