City Salon: How Weather, Navigation and Communication Contributed to the Sinking of the Princess Sophia: August 11th
  • Saturday, August 11th
  • 4:30pm- 6:00pm
  • FREE

Join us for the “City Salon” on Saturday, August 11 at 4:30pm at the Juneau-Douglas City Museum. The City Salon will be a new series centered on community dialogue about local history, culture, and literature. This first gathering will bring together experts and community members in a facilitated conversation around how weather, navigation, and communication contributed to the sinking of the Princess Sophia in October of 1918. We also recommend reading Ken Coates and Bill Morrison’s book, Sinking of the Princess Sophia: Taking the North Down with Her (available for purchase in the Museum Store). Light refreshments will be served.
