Burn Thompson Poetry Reading

Saturday, April 21st

7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us at the City Museum for an evening of original poetry with the Burn Thompson Writers Group in celebration of National Poetry Month. This event is free, and doors will open at 7:15 pm. Burn Thompson, who came to Juneau from Roanoke, Virginia took charge of a flagging writing group and nursed it back to health. Burn had an undergraduate degree in physics and graduate degrees in creative writing, a rare mix. The group was named in her honor after her death in October 2013.

Members of the Burn Thompson Writing Group meet bimonthly in the downtown library to read and critique their work. During meetings, writers share their work and offer each other gentle critiques. The group is open to the public.
