Exhibit Opportunity

15th Annual 12x12 Community Art Exhibit March 1st

Each year the City Museum hosts a unique community art exhibit in which artists of all ages are encouraged to create works within the parameters of a square or a cube, measuring 12" x 12" (by 12") including the framing. This year we encourage artists to create on the theme of "Elements".

Each year during the 12x12 exhibit, the City Museum offers the opportunity for artists and visitors to recommend future 12x12 themes and "Elements" was chosen for 2019. This theme lends itself to all artistic mediums and has a variety of meanings: Classical Elements typically refer to the concepts of earth, water, air, fire and aether; The Chinese Wu Xing system lists Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water; Modern science recognizes classes of elementary particles which make up the Periodic Table of Elements; and more! This theme offers an abundance of creative opportunities for Juneau's artists!

All entry forms and entry fees of $12.12 per submission are due February 12th. All artwork will be accepted Tuesday, February 19th through Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Each submission must include a title, artist name, and contact information attached to the back. Download 2019 12X12 Entry Form.
