Eaglecrest Mechanic III (Lift Mechanic)

Full Time 40 hours per week $16.00 - $21.32 Hourly (DOQ)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking candidates that have at least two years of previous ski lift maintenance experience and can be self-motivated and willing to adapt to a constantly changing work environment and can take pride in working on older equipment. Willingness to participate in other duties as assigned by the Director of Mountain Operations and working as a team member is a critical attribute.

WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION

This position typically works Wednesday through Sunday 7:00am to 3:30pm during the winter season, to match the Eaglecrest Operating Season. Work during winter holidays will be mandatory. During the summer, the position will work Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. During both seasons, overtime may be necessary to compete time sensitive repairs and projects. Your office will be at the Eaglecrest Ski Area Maintenance Garage.

Job Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The position will be primarily responsible for ski lift repair and maintenance under the direction of the Lift and Vehicle Maintenance supervisor. Duties will included working at heights on ski lift towers de-icing in inclement weather. Performing morning safety checks during start up procedures and completion of mid-day operating logs. Occasional trouble shooting and independent thinking will be required. Occasional repair to mountain vehicles, snowmaking equipment and diesel generators will be required. Trouble shooting low voltage 24V electrical systems will be necessary.

 

Minimum Qualifications

DO I HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB – OUR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:          Two (2) years of experience in the maintenance and repair mechanical systems or low voltage electrical control systems.

Substitution:       One (1) year of technical education in automotive, mechanical, or electrical studies may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Other: A valid Alaska Driver’s License at time of appointment and for continued employment
