Crane and Barge Dredging within the Harbor

Project Overview

The Statter Harbor Improvements Project, Phase III(A) or SHI III(A) for short is the first in 3 winter work phases to add additional tour vessel moorage and uplands transportation improvements to Statter Harbor. SHI III(A) focuses on removing the old boat launch ramp and floats then dredging the basin to a -16 depth. There is a rock pinnacle that needs to be removed for safe navigation so the project involves underwater bedrock blasting. Lastly, there is some excavation and fill required along the edge of the new bus lot to prepare for a new concrete block wall. The project construction began in October 2019 and will be complete by the end of May 2020.
